The Cartoon Pizza animation company was founded by Jim Jinkins together with David Campbell who was the successor Jumbo Pictures which was the former company of Jim Jinkins. 

The company is called by the name of Cartoon Pizza as the logo of the company is a picture of a pizza with a face on it. There is a tag line written under the logo which reads as “Worldwide Delivery”. This animation company has been famous because even in the modern world when the animation series are being produced using digital ink and paint the Cartoon Pizza Animation Company has provided its commitment to the continuous use of hand painted cell animation. The Jumbo Pictures Company was founded in the year 1990 by Jim Jinkins basically with the purpose to produce the episodes of Doug. The logo of this company was an egg which had Jumbo Pictures written on it and a logo under it which read as “Grade A Quality”. The rights to Doug as well as the company were sold to the Walt Disney Company in 1996. Soon after that Jim Jinkins founded a new production company by the name of Cartoon Pizza. Ever since then the Cartoon Pizza Animation Company has been producing shows like Hoop Dogz, Monster Trucks, Global Thingy, Jojo's Circus, Allegra's Window, Doug and many more.

The animation company has also won several awards for the series it has produced. In 2004 the company won the Annie Award nomination for the outstanding achievement in an animated television production for the series Jojo's Circus. In 2005 the company won the Parent' Choice Awards for Hoop Dogz. In 2002 also, the company had won the Emmy Award for outstanding performer in an animated program for the series Stanley. For Doug, in 2000 the company won the Annenberg Public Policy Center Award for outstanding educational program on a commercial broadcast station. This way the company has won several bog awards for the animated productions and the series.
